AI Research Engineer

About the role

CognitiveClouds is looking for an AI Research Engineer who can bridge emerging research and production software.

You will investigate new models, architectures and techniques, reproduce promising ideas, build rigorous evaluations and work with product engineering teams to determine what is genuinely useful in customer products.

The goal is not to produce research for its own sake. The goal is to understand what has become possible and turn the right advances into dependable systems.

What you'll do

• Investigate emerging AI and machine-learning techniques.
• Build experiments and prototypes to evaluate new approaches.
• Work on agent architectures, retrieval, reasoning, memory, evaluation and related areas.
• Design repeatable benchmarks and evaluation datasets.
• Compare models and architectures quantitatively.
• Study reliability, latency and cost trade-offs.
• Reproduce and validate relevant research findings.
• Work with product engineers to translate successful experiments into production systems.
• Develop internal tools that make AI experimentation faster and more rigorous.
• Document findings clearly so other teams can build on them.
• Stay close to real customer problems so research remains useful.

• You have hands-on experience with LLMs and machine-learning systems.
• You are comfortable reading technical papers and implementing ideas from them.
• You know how to design experiments rather than relying on anecdotes.
• You can work with Python and modern ML tooling.
• You care about evaluation.
• You enjoy problems where the answer is not yet known.
• You want your research work to become real software.

A strong research background is valuable, but evidence of exceptional technical work matters more than a specific degree.
