Web application development

Web application development that holds up under real users and real load.

We build fast, reliable web apps — from customer-facing products to complex internal platforms — engineered for performance, resilience, and the traffic you're planning for, not just the demo.

A web app is a promise you have to keep every day.

The web is where most software lives now, which means it has to be fast, reliable, and correct under conditions you don't control — spotty networks, real traffic, and users who won't wait. Good web application development is about the parts your users never see making the parts they do see feel effortless.

We build modern web applications and progressive web apps with performance and resilience engineered in, so the experience stays sharp as usage grows.

What we build.

Customer-facing web apps

Products people use every day, built to feel fast and stay reliable.

Progressive web apps

Web experiences with offline support and near-native speed.

Complex internal platforms

Dashboards and tools that carry real operational weight.

Real-time & data-heavy UIs

Interfaces that stay responsive under load and live data.

APIs & integrations

The backend connections a serious web app depends on.

Performance & rebuilds

Rescue and re-architect web apps that have outgrown their foundation.

The interface is changing.

A modern web application can do more than present forms and dashboards. It can understand natural language, work across complex information, make recommendations, and carry out governed tasks.

The design challenge is making those capabilities understandable and controllable.

Natural-language interaction

Let users ask, search, or instruct in ordinary language when that is faster than navigating a complex interface.

Sources & provenance

Show where important answers came from so users can inspect the underlying evidence.

Agent work state

Make it clear what an agent is doing, what is complete, what is waiting, and what requires a person.

Preview, approve & undo

Give users control before consequential actions happen and a clear recovery path when something goes wrong.

Multimodal input

Use documents, images, voice, and structured data when the workflow requires more than text and forms.

Graceful failure

Design explicit fallbacks for uncertainty, latency, unavailable models, and low-confidence results.

The goal is not to turn every application into a chat box.

It is to use the right interface for the job — conversational when conversation helps, structured when structure is better.

Performance is a feature, not a nice-to-have.

How fast and how reliably your web app works changes conversion, retention, and trust. We treat those as outcomes to engineer, not accidents.

Make speed a competitive edge

Cut load times and jank so the product feels better than the alternatives.

Work even when the network doesn't

Offline-capable web apps that keep working on real-world connections.

Handle the traffic you're planning for

Architecture that scales with growth instead of buckling under it.

Rescue a struggling web app

Re-architect what's slow or fragile without losing what works.

Fast doesn't have to mean unpredictable.

The reason software runs late and over budget is rarely the code — it's the chaos around it. We plan before we build, run the work as Missions you can watch, validate every change against an explicit definition of done, and review it before it ships. You get the speed of AI with the discipline that keeps software maintainable for years.

Proven on software companies actually depend on.

Proof — Sony LIV

3×

monthly active users

We rebuilt Sony LIV as a progressive web app — a ~2-second load, offline support, and 3× the monthly active users.

Sony LIV needed to replace its video-on-demand and live-streaming website with something dramatically faster and offline-capable. We built a progressive web app with an initial load time around two seconds and aggressively optimized bundles. After launch, Sony LIV saw a 3× increase in monthly active users.

A 14-year playbook, enforced by software.

Across more than 200 products, the difference between projects that ship clean and projects that spiral came down to a few disciplines. We turned them into how Cortex runs every build — so they happen every time, not just when someone remembers.

Plan in Missions

Every build starts as a plan a human approves — scope, definition of done, and boundaries — before a line of code is written.

Trace every commit

Each change is tied back to the plan it came from, so you can always see what was built, why, and by whom.

Test the contract

Work is validated against an explicit definition of done, not a demo — proven correct before it ever ships.

From COBOL to serverless.

We build on a modern stack and we read the old one before we replace it. Over a decade across enterprises means we're as comfortable in a legacy monolith as we are on the edge.

Modern stack

  • React & TypeScript
  • Node.js, Python & Go
  • Serverless & edge
  • Cloud-native (AWS / GCP / Azure)
  • Postgres & modern data stores
  • AI / LLM application layers

Legacy we speak

  • COBOL & mainframe logic
  • Java & .NET monoliths
  • Legacy relational databases
  • On-prem & regulated environments
  • Undocumented internal APIs
  • Systems no one wants to touch

Who it's for.

Companies whose product is the web app

When the web experience is the business, performance and reliability are the product.

Teams with a web app that's slowing down

Re-architect for speed and scale before it costs you users.

Products that need to work offline

Reach users on real networks with a progressive web app.

Not a typical software company.

Forward-deployed engineers, not juniors

Every engagement is led by engineers who've shipped production software for years.

AI speed, with the controls

Validation and human review are built into the process, not bolted on at the end.

Questions, answered.

What is web application development?
Web application development is building software that runs in the browser — from customer-facing products to complex internal platforms — with an emphasis on performance, reliability, and correctness under real traffic and real networks.
What's a progressive web app, and do we need one?
A progressive web app is a web app that behaves more like a native one — fast loads, offline support, and installability. It's a strong fit when your users are on unreliable networks or you want native-like reach without building separate mobile apps. We'll tell you honestly whether it fits your case.
Can you fix or rebuild a slow existing web app?
Yes. We re-architect and rebuild web apps that have outgrown their foundation, keeping the business logic that works while fixing the performance and reliability that doesn't.
Who owns the web application you build?
You do, completely. Every engagement includes full IP assignment and is covered by an NDA from the first conversation.
