Forward Deployed AI Engineer

About the role

Forward Deployed AI Engineers work directly with customers on some of their hardest AI opportunities.

You will understand how a customer's business and systems work today, identify where AI can materially improve a workflow or product, prototype possible solutions and then work with our engineering teams to take the right solution into production.

The role combines software engineering, technical discovery, product thinking and customer interaction.

You need enough AI depth to separate what is genuinely useful from what merely makes a good demo.

What you'll do

• Work directly with customer teams to understand workflows, systems and constraints.
• Identify high-value applications of AI.
• Rapidly prototype solutions against real customer problems.
• Build production AI applications, agents, integrations and workflows.
• Work with enterprise APIs, systems and data.
• Evaluate models and architectures for each use case rather than defaulting to one stack.
• Design human-in-the-loop workflows where appropriate.
• Establish evaluation criteria before taking AI capabilities into production.
• Diagnose deployment problems across unfamiliar customer environments.
• Work with Product and Engineering to turn field learnings into reusable capabilities.
• Help define repeatable patterns for deploying AI successfully.
• Communicate trade-offs clearly to both technical and executive stakeholders.
